4 days of superb wildlife viewing in Selous in southern Tanzania is followed by 2 days to explore Stone Town on Zanzibar, then 3 nights at an Indian Ocean beach lodge. A wonderful trip at a great price.
Selous Game Reserve in southern Tanzania is only about a 1 hour's light plane flight from Dar es Salaam, so within a short time of arriving in Africa, you can find yourself on safari in the wilderness, miles away from everywhere. The wildlife viewing in Selous can be wonderful, and you've the chance to see a great diversity of animals from elephants, zebras, giraffes to predators such as lions and wild dogs.
Being on safari in Selous you will have the opportunity not only to take game drives, but also boat safaris and bush walks. It's adventurous and exciting, but you're looked after very well and you won't lack for comfort or good food.
After your African safari we fly you over to the Indian Ocean spice island of Zanzibar. You have 2 nights to explore the fascinating Swahili capital, Stone Town, before then heading out a gorgeous beach lodge for 3 nights. Fumba Beach Lodge is about half an hour's drive from Stone Town, and has just 26 rooms within lovely tropical gardens.

When you arrive at Dar es Salaam airport today, you will be met and transferred to the domestic terminal next door to the international airport. From here you will catch your light plane to Selous Game reserve. The flight is about 1 hour. At the airstrip, a guide from the camp will meet you and drive you back to camp. Depending when you arrive, you might have lunch then a full afternoon's game activity, though if you're on the afternoon flight, you'll just settle in and enjoy dinner before heading to bed. Relax, you're in Africa! Dinner.
For the next 3 full days you can enjoy wildlife watching in the gorgeous Selous based at Selous Wilderness Camp. Selous is a vast wilderness with savannah, lakes and rivers, and is known for great game. You will have two game activities per day. Most will be game drives, but you'll also get the chance to take a boat safari, and perhaps a walking safari if you'd like to try that too. Full board.
This morning you could take one last morning walk at Selous before you're taken back to the airstrip ready for your plane to Zanzibar (via Dar). At Zanzibar you will again be met, and driven to your Stone Town hotel. It's time to explore! Breakfast, dinner.
Today you've a full day to explore Stone Town, or perhaps take an excursion elsewhere on the island. Maybe a spice tour, or perhaps a marine boat trip or a visit to Jozani Forest. And of course you can taken advantage of trying out one of the many restaurants in the town, which are often perched on rooftops. Breakfast, dinner

Today we will drive you across the island to your beach lodge where you have the next 3 days to simply chill out on the beach by the Indian Ocean. You're in a deluxe sea view room, and if you fancy doing more than relax, you can do a variety opf watersports and they have a spa too. Breakfast, dinner.
Today we will take you back to the airport in time for you journey home, be that a flight directly from Zanzibar or via Dar es Salaam. We're sure you'll be leaving with some wonderful memories of Tanzania.
