The sighting of my tent was ideal with a fantastic outlook & from this one point of view the camp lived up to its name - Tent with a View. I don`t usually complain but I thought the "5-course diner" was very poor & that, generally, the cook lacked imagination & skill.

We were the only 2 people there so were treated like royalty!! Breakfast in the tower and a lobster dinner on the beach on our last night!! but....lethal steps down into the bathroom!!

It was far more sophisticated than the name implies - I imagined \"Tent with a View\" would be fare more tent like and was pleasantly surprised. However, perhaps guests with limited mobility might be warned that there are steep steps to climb up to the banda and the steep step down into the bathroom could be challenging. (My partner has difficulties with balance and he certainly would not have been able to cope with the steep steps or getting in and out of the Land Rover.) Also, as per my comments earlier, I would recommend travelling to Saadani by plane and avoid the road journey. I do think Tribes assessment of the time it should take as roughly 3-4 hours is unlikely, even on a good day! Extensive road works on the main road (which may eventually be improved) and always heavy traffic driving in and out of Dar.

This is a really friendly camp with lovely people and very good guides. More delicious food here enjoyed overlooking the sea and watching the moon rise. Not so pretty when the tides out but you do get to rummage in the rock pools.

Great location on the beach, all bandas have a large veranda with chairs and hammock. They’re spaced well apart, good for privacy. There’s a laid back atmosphere, but also plenty to do for several days – full day game drive/boat cruise, canoe ride in mangrove – highly recommended, excellent for birdlife, guided bush walks all in addition to the beach, which has good, safe swimming and strolling. Friendly, knowledgeable hosts.
