Day 1
Arrive In Entebbe
You'll be met at the airport in Entebbe and driven to your guest house, where the rest of the day is free. This allows you to take life easy as recuperate from your flight, maybe enjoying a swim in the outdoor pool, and prepare for the exciting days ahead. There are restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner, or you can stay put and dine in the hotel.
Day 2
Drive to Kibale
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast. Your guide will pick you up and you'll head for Fort Portal with a picnic lunch to enjoy en route. You'll see the Mountains of the Moon and pass through many tea plantations. You'll reach Kibale National Park where you will be spending the next two nights.

Day 3
Chimp Trekking & Bigodi Swamp
Today is your introduction to Uganda's primates! Trekking to see the chimpanzees is an amazing experience. In Kibale there are over 120 individuals in this habituated family, so this is one of the best places to have a chance of seeing them. Once you locate them you have one hour to spend in their enthralling company. After your walk in the forest and a delicious lunch at the lodge it's time to explore Bigodi Swamp. This walk is nothing like the forest walk, showcasing another aspect of the Pearl of Africa. You'll return to the lodge for dinner and a good rest.

Day 4
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
The drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park will take around 3 hours, passing through beautiful scenery with views of the crater lakes region. An afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel has been arranged for today. Enjoy snacks and drinks as you navigate the channel. You are almost guaranteed wildlife sightings as animals come to drink along the banks. The concentration of hippos is phenomenal and there are Nile crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and many species of birds. Back at your accommodation, enjoy more of the beautiful scenery.

Day 5
Drive To Ishasha
This morning you will drive to the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey time is between 2 to 3 hours and includes a visit to the Ishasha Community Project where you can meet local people. Ishasha is known for tree climbing lions, an unusual trait of the lions in this region, so do keep your eyes peeled. Once you've settled in to your lodge, there will be another game drive this afternoon.

Day 6
Ishasha
You have all day to enjoy the wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This includes elephant and many species of antelope, and of course the area's famous tree-climbing lions. You'll have the benefit of your guide's expertise to help you gain the most from your time on safari. Return to the lodge to round off the day with a sundowner as you watch the sunset.

Day 7
To Bwindi
An early start will see you head off on a game drive to spot elephants, lions and any other wildlife in the area. A bush breakfast will be served to quash your hunger. The chef will rustle up a full English breakfast as you enjoy a hot coffee or tea. Late morning, you will return to the lodge to pack your bags in preparation of an afternoon departure. The drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park will take a couple of hours. A warm welcome will be waiting for you when you arrive at your lodge.

Day 8
Gorilla Tracking
Today is possibly the highlight of your trip, and one you will never forget! Trekking to see the mountain gorillas is one of the best wildlife experiences you can possibly have. Depending on the family you are allocated to see, the trek could be as short as an hour but it could be 3-4 hours before you find them. Once you locate them you have one hour to spend in their enthralling company.

Leisure Day
If you've opted for a second gorilla trek in Bwindi you'll do this today. If not you could arrange a forest walk with the lodge (optional extra) or perhaps you might prefer to catch up with some reading and chat to other travellers about their time in Uganda.

To Entebbe
Today you head back to Entebbe. You are transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for a flight that will connect with your onward travel.
