Open: Duba Explorers Camp is open all year.
Location: The camp is on an island located on a 77,000 acre private concession in a remote area of the northern Okavango Delta. It is one of two camps in the concession. The camp has its own airstrip and is about 1 hour's flying time from Kasane and 30-45 minutes from Maun.
Rooms: 5 tented rooms, built on raised wooden decks, all with en-suite bathrooms with shower, twin hand basins and a flush toilet. Bathrobes are provided. Beds have mosquito nets. Each tent has its own deck. Tents are cooled by fans and have windows along 2 side making them light. The camp accommodates a maximum of 10 guests.
Activities: Early morning and late afternoon game drives, guided walks, and boat and mokoro excursions depending on water levels.
Facilities: The main area of the camp is an open-sided tent which houses the lounge and dining area. The spacious deck lends itself to alfresco dining, and also has a unique copper firepit where after dinner drinks can be enjoyed. The views across the plains are spectacular.
Dining: Most meals are served on the outdoor dining deck, though can be served indoors if preferred. Meals are usually eaten communally around one long table.
Children: The camp accepts children over the age of 8.
Health: This is a malarial area.
Communication: Limited Wi-Fi is available in guest tents.
Notes: Duba Explorers Camp is run by a partnership of Great Plains Conservation and the Okavango Community Trust.
