Open: Dewachen Hotel is open all year.

Location: Dewachen Hotel is located in the Phobjikha Valley on the edge of the Black Mountains National Park, near the village of Gangtey.

Rooms:; There are 16 spacious rooms (12 twins and 4 doubles) all with modern, en-suite bathrooms. Rooms are heated by wood burning stoves and hotel water bottles are supplied on cold nights. Rooms are equipped with bottled water and tea and coffee makers. The large windows look out over the valley and most rooms have balconies.

Activities: Visiting Gangtey Gompa, Phobjikha village and the black necked crane information centre, walking in the valley, enjoying a hot stone bath at the hotel. Hotel staff can organise horse riding, hiking and cultural programmes.

Facilities: The restaurant has a central stove and windows offering panoramic views of the valley. It serves a range of cuisines. There is a cocktail bar where guests can enjoy a refreshing drink and a pool room. The hotel has a hot stone bath and a gift shop. There is a laundry service. The hotel has its own generator for electricity, which is generally available between 6.30 and 7.30 am and again from 6 to 9pm.

Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables in the restaurant.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: We recommend malarial prophylactics for travel to the low lying districts of southern Bhutan.

Communication: There is wifi internet access in the restaurant, but this can be sporadic.

Notes: There are no currency exchange facilities or ATMs in the Phobjikha Valley, so guests need to bring enough cash with them for their stay.
