Dewachen Hotel is an attractive, traditional Bhutanese style building in a lovely setting overlooking Phobjikha Valley. It offers spacious and comfortable accommodation in 16 rooms and provides modern creature comforts despite its remote location. This family-run hotel has a relaxed atmosphere.

Guest rooms are homely with polished wooden floors and bright textiles. They have picture windows making the most of the glorious valley views. Many rooms also have balconies. Corner rooms are particularly spacious. All rooms have bukhari wood-burning stoves which come into their own in the cooler months. Hot water bottles are also available.

The restaurant serves delicious multi-cuisine meals. Guests can enjoy the views while they dine. The hotel also has a cocktail lounge and a pool room, so there is plenty of space for guests to relax. Outside there are three acres of grounds.

The main attraction of the area is Gangtey Gompa, a 17th monastery at the head of the valley, which is just three kilometres from the hotel. This region is also the winter home of the endangered black-necked cranes, so guests staying here from November to March will have the opportunity to see these rare birds. The hotel can arrange horse riding, which is a great way to explore the valley. Gangtey village is within walking distance and is worth a visit. The valley has nature trails which guests can follow on foot or bike.
