Open: Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is open all year.

Location: Xaranna is on an island in a private reserve in a remote part of the Okavango Delta, with views of waterways and floodplains. The nearest airstrip is about a 1 hour drive away.

Rooms: There are 9 tented suites, all linked to the central part of the camp by sandy paths. They are spaced well apart, and the furthest tents are about a 5 minute walk from the main camp. They’re spacious, with plenty of storage space and have climate control providing cooling air conditioning or heating as required. Rooms are equipped with a selection of snacks and drinking water, hairdryer, safe, power points, insect repellent, bathrobes and slippers. Bathrooms have a full size bath and shower, separate toilet and an outdoor shower. Toiletries are provided. An intercom connects you with the main camp, allowing you to order hot and cold drinks. Outside there’s a sala (covered are with a daybed) and a private plunge pool. The suites underwent a thorough refurbishment in 2016.

Activities: Early morning game drives, afternoon game drive or boat or mokoro ride if water levels permit, fishing (seasonal), plus other activities that can be arranged and paid for locally including scenic flights by helicopter.

Facilities: The open plan main area is arranged on different levels, differentiating between the lounge-reading area and the dining area. Both are open sided and lead out to uncovered decks for sitting and eating. There’s a boma with plenty of seating where you can enjoy drinks and dinner by the fire in the open air. The camp has a gift shop selling safari clothes, jewellery and art. The camp provides a free laundry service.

Dining: Meals are eaten at individual tables indoors and outdoors. Private meals can be arranged.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Some tents can take an extra bed for a child up to 16 years. The WILDchild programme provides activities specifically designed for children. Regarding wildlife activities, there are age limits for different activities: children below the age of 6 years cannot participate in wildlife activities; those aged 12 years and older are permitted on game drives, and those between 6 and 12 can take part at the discretion of the camp manager; boat trips are available to those over 16, but children aged 12 and over may be able to take part at the discretion of the manager. The minimum age for bush walks and mokoro rides is 16.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is Wi-Fi internet access in the main area of the camp.
