Open: Year round.
Location: In the foothills of the Virunga Mountains, about a two hour drive from Kigali.
Rooms: Six cottages, two suites and one family room. All are en-suite with hot water, have sitting and dressing areas, heating and a private terrace. The family units comprises two en-suite bedrooms with a shared terrace. Each room is equipped with a selection of locally made toiletries.
Activities: Gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking, escorted walks, mountain biking, cultural visits, Dian Fossey research walk, scenic day excusions, market visits and hiking trails.
Facilities: Within in the main building, the bar, dining room and library-cum-games room all have fireplaces. There are two outside decks for al-fresco meals and drinks during the summer months. There is a small souvenir shop on site. The lodge offers laundry and room service.
Dining: Meals are served in the restaurant and on the deck (weather permitting). Picnics can also be requested. Guests going on gorilla treks are given a supply of snacks.
Children: The lodge welcomes children of all ages. Children under 15 years old not permitted on gorilla treks.
Health: This is a malaria area.
Communication: There is limited mobile reception. The lodge has wifi in guest rooms and communal areas.
