The magic of Amakhala and Hlosi. Seeing so many animals especially the baby rhino, baby elephants and young giraffe and the great vibe on our game viewer with our fantastic ranger, Michaela - all trips were excellent. Staying at Cliff Lodge by the stormy sea and the intimate local eating experience in the Private House. Enjoying the self drive along the garden route - stopping off as and when we wanted, to enjoy the view. Seaside walks before breakfast including dolphins at Plett and cliffs at De Kelders. Arriving to the view from our room at Abbey Manor in Capetown. Bumping into someone from our game viewer cohort at Amakhala, Eastern Cape on the ferry to Robben Island. Enjoying the Kirstenbosch Gardens early on our last morning before returning to Abbey Manor for a late breakfast and then driving to the airport - a perfect finish.

Tribes Overall:

The holiday lived up to our expectations and more. We were really pleased with all our accommodation and the advice given from our accommodation providers about where to eat was excellent too. The itinerary worked well for us. We were only able to have a short trip and it made the most of the time we had.

Tribes Service:

The consultant did a really good job for us and the trip was arranged pretty easily with the itinerary not having to go to and fro very much until it was as we wanted.

We had a guide for a half day in Capetown. She was friendly, knowledgeable and drove well. She gave us plenty of opportunities to get out, look around and take photos. The improvement would have been that, as it was bespoke, we took more advantage of that to plan the itinerary in advance or with the guide at the start of the tour as we felt we could have got better value out of the tour.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

Our game reserve ranger talked specifically wildlife conservation, breeding programmes we felt that we were in a game reserve with a good ethos. We felt the accommodation providers took the environment seriously - recycling, reducing waste etc. We were recommended local places to eat so that would help local people.
Also the people employed were local too.
