Walking into the Riad from the hot Marrakech alleyways was a revelation that made the heart flip. The contrast between the crazy shambles of the medina streets and the coolness and incredible architecture inside was simply stunning. Eating with the locals on the Jemma, haggling, mint tea, meeting Berbers in their home - just too many memories to list.
The peak (of course), was reaching the summit of Toubkal but the most moving experience was the kindness of Rashid our guide, and his team. The first lunch up the mountain, in the shade of a huge rock was unforgettable.
It was a perfect combination of relaxation, culture, - and challenge. An incredibly rewarding experience.
This was our second Tribes holiday and like the first, it exceeded our expectations. Paul Cook gave us excellent advice, which we followed and had a much enriched experience as a result.
Travel Link provided a flawless service and the guides, especially Rashid at Imlil were excellent.
(Felt a bit uncomfortable at the Marrakech synagogue though)
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
The 5% donation at the Refuge du Toubkal is a great idea - for all sorts of reasons.
