Holiday review by Mr. Kevin Robinson

Date of trip: 27/09/2013
Number of people: 2
Watching a shoebill trying to fish, having been stood stark still for over 30minutes. Trying to work out how 5 very rotund lions could stay balanced on very thin tree branches. Seeing an adolescent gorilla nearly get catapulted across the forest floor.
A great itinerary.
We would advise the getting the drive to Bwindi out of the way early. This gets the hard, rough roads out of the way, and also after all the good food I'm not sure I would be fit enough to trek gorillas.
The one regret is that we didn't have the time to include a trip to Kidepo (apparently the best NP)
It is great to have established a relationship where Tracy understands what it is that we enjoy and look for in our holidays. All of the lodges on this trip fitted that profile.
Augustine was absolutely brilliant. Throughout the trip he was ahead of things, always explaining the schedule and providing advanced information of what to expect. The result was that we were in the right place at the right time on numerous occasions. I like to think that was down to him more than luck.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
All of the lodges seemed genuinely concerned about the environment and reducing their carbon footprint. A couple of best practices that should be considered for adoption by the others:
Ishasha Wilderness Lodge use refillable toiletry containers and provide drinking water in flasks to reduce the amount of plastic.
