In the Masai Mara we saw mating lion and mating elephant.1-2 day old hippo. Family of lions with cubs x 5 and 3 females. All in one day!
Tribes Overall:
Travelling long distances in heat of day.we tried to get a map before we went but were unable to find one. The itinerary we got gave no indication that we were travelling 1400 km over such bad roads.
Tribes Service:
Only possible improvement as above re travel. Almost as an after thought we got the info re upgrading the tent size. The last 2 nights were in the Masai Mara in a 'permanent' tented site. More 'luxurious' but we would have rather had the company etc of our guide and ourselves. This was not explained in the documentation.
Guides:
Driver/guide (Sammy) was faultless, really excellent and very patient etc. The cook/assistant (Lumbai) had verbal diarrhea and became intrusive at times. He was kind, solicitous, attentive and knowledgeable, but we had to be almost rude to shut him up at times!
