What is there to see?
Some of the flights concentrate solely on the coastal area. Viewing the jagged coastline and the remains of wrecked ships is quite a sight and a chilling reminder of lives lost and dramas played out over the centuries.
Depending on the precise route and duration of the flight you’ll also see a large colony of Cape fur seals at Cape Cross, flocks of flamingos, glistening saltpans and the eerie remains of camps once used by diamond miners.
Longer flights travel inland too, giving you a magnificent bird’s eye view of the impressive dunes at Sossusvlei, dry river beds and the starkly beautiful Namib Desert.

Where to go
The Skeleton Coast covers an area from the border with Angola in the north down to the coastal town of Swakopmund. The image above was taken whilst staying at Shipwreck Lodge, a unique Lodge in the middle of the Skeleton Coast National Park.
When to go
Flights take place year round, though are offered subject to weather conditions.
How to do it
Scenic flights can be arranged if you are staying at some of the Skeleton Coast lodges and there are also flight companies based in Swakopmund offering scenic flights.

A unique experience in a unique place
A flight over the Skeleton Coast will add a very special element to your holiday and leave you in awe of the vast size and beauty of this region.
