The Old Harbour House is a beautiful 300 year old colonial building which was, in fact, the very first hotel in Cochin. Elements of Dutch and Portuguese architecture have been preserved throughout the restorations and it is now a delightful 13 room boutique hotel.
Each of the rooms is named after a street in Cochin, and has been meticulously designed and decorated in an eclectic blend of period furniture and varied artworks that blend together sympathetically. The ceilings are high adding a feeling of space and light to the rooms and they have views of either the landscaped courtyard complete with fountain or of the ancient Chinese fishing nets. There are a number of cottages dotted about the gardens that have a distinct feel of Kerala. The open-air bathrooms are typical of the area, and each also has a private veranda and pond. Free WiFi is available as well as a complimentary yoga session for each guest.
The large gardens are the setting for the swimming pool, and also a stage for occasional cultural performances. In addition there is an Ayurvedic spa for those all important pampering treatments.
