Set just outside the western boundary of Serengeti National Park, Ikoma Tented Camp (or Ikoma Bush Camp) is in a great position for safaris in Serengeti’s western corridor. It’s not too far from the Grumeti River which is one of the crossing points for the migration as the massive herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelopes head from the southern Serengeti towards the Masai Mara.
Ikoma has 35 semi-luxury traditional large walk-in tents each under thatch to keep the sun off. Each has an en-suite bathroom with shower and flush toilet, mozquito nets over the beds and a private veranda.
The central restaurant and bar area has a large camp fire - an ideal spot to unwind with a drink after a long day’s exciting game viewing. Night drives and bush walks are a wonderful way to enjoy the Tanzanian wilderness, and you can also visit nearby Maasai villages.
