Everything, it was so good to see Costa Rica from East to West. Included what we loved in the hotel review section. The transport reliability was very comforting.

Tribes Overall:

It all worked like clockwork and saw some wonderful sights. The amount of people on each trip was in keeping with the itinerary.

Tribes Service:

Very easy to book and love Vamoos to check weather etc. Paul was very helpful as we didn’t book until quite late and the hotels were great, I just changed the last one in Tamarindo and so glad I did.

Guides:

All arrived to collect us on time and knew their subject well. Our favourite was Andreas who took us on the Hanging Bridge tour in Arenal so knowledgeable and was still excited himself. Even the boat trip to get to Tourtegero was fascinating. Henry the local guide there was exceptional on the boat trip and the forest walk. When we asked the guides to drop us in town afterwards they all did and pointed out where we could get a taxi/bus back to the hotel. The only one that wasn’t quite up to scratch was the one who took us on the Arenal Volcano valley hike very rushed and not really interested, he spent time on his mobile too.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

Yes as tourism is classed as one of the industries the Costa Ricans rely on and as they monitor the amount of people they allow on the reserves then I didn’t feel it was detrimental to the wildlife.

We loved the atmosphere here, sitting on our balcony relaxing. Nice to have a pool to chill by after the trips which the boat one early in the morning was great. I wish we had done a canoe trip too. Probably would have missed the town trip instead. Food good and well organised. The bar by the water was lovely but think maybe they should close one of the others at night so more people are in one bar to socialise.

It took a while to love this place. It was a shock the weather being so cold and windy and the room was quite cold in the bay window but still nice sitting there with a lovely view. We knew we could have requested a heater but we were lucky and didn’t get wet so we managed. It was lovely and warm downstairs, the Cocktail happy hour was great and nice opportunity to catch up with other guests. The restaurant and food is great, very reasonable and tasty. Very comfy bed and I loved the hotel decor so in keeping with the area.
