It’s so hard to pick one special moment as the whole experience was so wonderful but here goes..... A humpback whale breached 3 times in front of our boat. A hummingbird thought my nose was a bird feeder... Looking over a bridge at 6m crocodiles. Watching a troop of about 50 squirrel monkeys foraging at eye level. Walking in the lush rainforest. Loved it all.

Tribes Overall:

Costa Rica was amazing we loved it. One of our best holidays ever. The Costa Rica service partner Tribes work with were excellent. Every transfer was on time. Their organisation was spot on.

Tribes Service:

Rory was excellent and we ended up with a tour that totally surpassed all our expectations. The hotels/lodges were gorgeous and we were incredibly sad to leave. Thanks so much. The App was very useful too.

Guides:

Most of the guides were excellent and we learnt so much about the local wildlife and they were so engaging and kind. There were one or two exceptions. The guide in Monte Verde was supposed to take us on a 4 hour hike but ended up taking us up and down one path in pursuit of the resplendent quetzal. Which we only glimpsed in passing which disappointed somewhat. My one other issue was with the port guides at Tortuguero they were very rude and treated us like cattle. I was shouted at in front of everyone for not knowing the name of the cafe we were meant to be transferred from. It was very unnecessary and he also shouted at others too.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

It’s such a friendly place we made friends with locals and tourists all the way round. The wildlife lived up to the hype...we saw so much. Tourism is very important in rural Costa Rica and I feel that everyone benefits and this helps to preserve the National Parks.
