I thoroughly enjoyed the day trip to Doka coffee plantation, Poas (even though it was clouded over) and La Paz waterfalls. Also the fact that we stopped at a local cafe to sample the strawberries and wine. I also enjoyed the night walk at Punta Leona and had a magical morning snorkelling alone with two large turtles at Playa Blanca. I self-drove to Manuel Antonio and joined a small group with a guide. That was also highly enjoyable, although at times a little crowded.
Tribes Overall:
I wasn’t expecting the crowds of tourists but discovered it was holiday time in Costa Rica while I was there. Also I found it quite expensive.
However, the wild beauty and stunning biodiversity made it worthwhile!
Tribes Service:
Paul was very helpful, responsive and flexible.
Guides:
All guides were extremely professional, enthusiastic and highly trained.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
It seemed to support the local businesses which was good. I did not feel comfortable with how some of the animals (cats mainly) were kept at the refuge centre in La Paz. They appeared stressed by all the visitors.
