Enjoyed Victoria Falls, Kimberley Diamond mine and Cape Town in particular. Also the tour round the ROVOS station with the owner Rohan Vos. He was so interesting and enthusiastic and even met us off the train in Cape Town.

Tribes Overall:

Great holiday.

Tribes Service:

Couldn’t fault the service. No problems at all - it all went like clockwork. Thank you very much.

Guides:

Didn’t have a guide.

Zimbabwe

Rather small and dark room compared with The Peach, but we appreciate it was an older place. Our room looked out onto the gardens where we saw warthogs and monkeys wandering about, which was great.
Our room was on the ground floor and had no nets or blinds which meant keeping the curtains closed while getting changed.
Staff all very nice. Enjoyed the massage and the pool.

Cape Town

Beautiful train, lovely food and excellent staff.
We found the 54 hours on it too long for us - but we like to be busy, so can’t blame the ROVOS. The scenery was not very interesting until we got near Cape Town. Unfortunately the train did have problems, eg with an overhead cable being stolen and points failures. At one point we were 8 hours behind schedule. Having said all that, we are glad we did it.
