This was our first time in South Africa and our first safari experience as well. We loved Cape Town and did a half day City tour and a whole day peninsula tour (arranged privately) both of which were excellent. Our safari drives exceeded expectations and we saw the big 5 on numerous occasions. And lots of other wildlife as well. We had a great day at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and we had a lovely time at Victoria Falls. The guys at Arathusa in particular were the best.
Overall we had a fantastic time. We loved Cape Town and also Arathusa in particular was exceptional in every aspect.
Everything worked very smoothly. All meet and greets and transfers went as planned.
All information was provided and all queries were responded to timeously.
All our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with great insights.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Hard to say, but I believe Tourism plays its part in terms of employment of local people and providing funding which contributes to the arrangements for preserving wildlife.
The places you stayed
Good location for Table Mountain, Camps Bay and the Waterfront. Travelled around by Uber which was cheap.
Arathusa was our highlight in every respect. The game drives were phenomenal with our ranger Carlton and tracker Rief being a great team. We had so many highlights every drive. The staff at the lodge were so friendly , the food was great and the accommodation excellent. We had elephants, hyenas, ikuda and others wandering through the camp at various times and saw the big 5 and lots of other wildlife on our drives.
The hotel was very good and walking distance to the Falls which were spectacular.
