Seeing all the wildlife, especially in the Galápagos Islands. I loved the snorkelling with sealions, penguins, sea turtles and marine iguanas. We were frequently the only people who were in each place/landing, which made it very special. The transfers were well organised and fairly easy.
Tribes Overall:
Very enjoyable overall. Slightly marred by the unrest in Quito, which was obviously beyond anyone’s control.
The Galapagos cruise was very special, but the Napo river wildlife centre was also very good.
Tribes Service:
Very helpful. Advice was good and all options discussed.
Guides:
All very knowledgeable and interesting.
The guide on the cruise was good, but his English could have been better.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
The lack of plastic rubbish was noticeable.
The napo river trip included s visit to the women of the local people. This was interesting but overlong. Could have been shortened considerably.
The places you stayed

La Casona de la Ronda
Ecuador
Didn’t see much of it as we had to move out of the city due to the protests.

Treasure of the Galapagos
Galapagos Islands
Lovely boat and crew. Lots of wildlife to see.
I felt that $50 wet suit hire was expensive. Snorkelling was an amazing part of the trip, but it was virtually impossible without a wet suit due to the water temperature. This should have been included.
Food was adequate and plentiful.

Grand Hotel
Ecuador
This was ok, and I understand the need for a night in Guayaquil, but there was very little to see.
