Tribes Overall:

The safari was amazing with incredible experiences each day. Letaka, deservedly have a very strong reputation and appear to be industry leaders in their respect of the wild life and quality of staff. Our guide Robson has a phenomenal ability to 'read' the landscape as well as the ability to identify any species, mammalian or feathered at great distance. The camping was comfortable if basic. The sites allowed the possibility of amazing encounters without traveling anywhere.
The food and support were provided with great skill and good humour by Pula, Message and Johannes.
The three day wind down at Victoria Falls was welcome & accommodation there very good.

Tribes Service:

From the start information was good. I liked the app and documents it held.
One criticism is that it wasn't clear on the maps where we were actually going.
Other points that would have been helpful was the fact that in Victoria Falls all transactions are expected to be in dollars and tips expected by everyone. The visa cost 55 dollars although sometimes the Kaza can be bought for 50.

Guides:

In addition email comments above our guide was extremely knowledgeable, patient our ignorance and very good at interpreting what we saw.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

The philosophy of the companies involved was good in respect local communities and respectful of the environment overall. However it is obvious that getting there & the use of the diesel land cruiser has a negative impact. It is also clear that there are times when the presence of a lot of safari vehicles can put animals under stress.

The places you stayed

Letaka Camp set up

Letaka Camping

Chobe & Savuti

Very comfortable camping with fairly basic facilities. Excellent support and a great welcome back each day with a G&T at the campfire.
Superb cooking and incredibly daily cakes & bread baked over the fire.

Batonka Guest Lodge

Batonka Guest Lodge

Zimbabwe

Very comfortable. Friendly staff. A little outside the town so taxis required for all trips to town. For all other activities you are picked up anyway.
