We loved seeing the wildlife especially the sloths, monkeys and hummingbirds although we saw a lot more than this! The whole Tortuguero experince was great and also the hot springs at Arenal. Another highlight was the zip wire at Monteverde and the hanging bridges.
Tribes Overall:
The holiday did live up to our expectations. One of our aims was to see wildlife and we saw plenty throughout our stay. Everything was extremely well organised, with every connection being on time and as arranged. We found the Costa Rican people very friendly and knowledgeable and overall we loved our time there.
Tribes Service:
Yes Rory was very helpful beforehand and we got the times we wanted.
Guides:
Our guides were all excellent, some were conducting research and so extremely knowledgeable. In particular our guide for Tortuguero, Giovanni, gave us a real feel for life in Costa Rica as well us pointing out wildlife. We were impressed with all our guides.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
It is hard to tell but I'd hope that the money we spent goes toward funding the maintenance of the national parks. The tourist industry is clearly very important in Costa Rica.
The places you stayed

Evergreen Lodge
Tortuguero National Park
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a bit more rough and ready than Lomas Del Volcan but there was a lot of wildlife right outside the window. I quite liked the fixed time for meals

Lomas del Volcan
Arenal
This accomadation was probably the best we stayed in. The bungalows were really lovely with terraces front and back and hummingbirds outside the window. The restaurant was fine although I preferred the food elsewhere. We liked the pool

Monteverde Lodge and Gardens
Costa Rica
The accomodation was great (although not quite as good as Lomas del Volcan) and looked out on to the lovely gardens. The grounds really made this hotel and it had a heated outdoor pool. We liked the restaurant and bar and I really appreciated the tea/coffee making facilities in the lobby

Bahia del Sol
Playa Potrero, Guanacaste
We were upgraded to a large two bedroom suite which was fantastic. The setting of the hotel was amazing- right on the beach. We liked the restaurant here and overall our stay was very relaxing
