Masses of elephants and hippos near Mma Dinare at a water hole and lagoon, certainly in excess of 50 elephants. Elephant road block near Ghoha Hills caused by a big Bull elephant stripping tree bark. Very intimidating when he turned to go and found us blocking his path, but a magical experience. Witnessed a hunt by Lions which was spoiled by youngsters enthusiasm. Lioness road block at night, wandering down the track, stopping and resting without a care in the world, whilst we followed very slowly. Followed Wild Dogs hunting (Pack of 18 or so) which was successful but we fortunately didn't see the actual kill. Really exciting to watch and thrilling experience. Fabulous walking safari at Oddballs camp, Isaiah was very interesting and made the 3 hour walk pass very quickly indeed. Even tested Frank on his 'homing' skills! All staff at Ghoha Hills entertained the guests one evening to a singing and dancing concert round the fire which was brilliant and made us all smile all the way through.

Tribes Overall:

Yes it lived up to our expectations. The experiences we had were amazing and never ending.

Tribes Service:

Very positive experience on booking, all details supplied and Christine, the consultant, was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Guides:

Ninja, Isaiah, Ran and Alco were all excellent. They were all excellent spotters of animals and birds. They were knowledgeable, and gave the information very clearly and never seemed to mind if we asked the same questions over and over.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

We hope that as a result of us travelling in Botswana, some of our money has benefited the local economy in some way. Also, most junior staff appeared to have been employed from the local villages, also the guides.

Chobe & Savuti

Met at airstrip with damp towel, water and fruit, very much appreciated after flight. Excellent singing reception on arrival at lodge. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Jean even borrowed a scarf from Oriel, the Manager. Food excellent. Staff entertainment fabulous. Everything else was great, accommodation, food and laundry service. There are a lot of steps so not great for the less mobile and it is quite a long drive before you start seeing any game, but loads to see once there.

Mma Dinare

Okavango Delta

Nice reception, accommodation excellent. Game drives were amazing, Alco, the guide, and Edwin his assistant, were brilliant. Game drives started as soon as we entered the vehicle and this was where we saw the best game, many special experiences and a high concentration of varied game to see.
We were even given a special 'Romantic Dinner' in our tent one night!
