We loved seeing all the animals in the wild in a natural environment in reserves that are totally un fenced. Where the animals are truly free to roam. We had such a amazing time and feel so pleased that it was Botswana we chose for our destination.

Tribes Overall:

Our holiday certainly lived up to our expectations. We had a wonderful safari experience and we will have long lasting memories of our time in Africa

Tribes Service:

We booked our holiday through Alex Neaves. He was so helpful and nothing was ever too much much trouble . He always got back to us really quickly with sensible answers to our questions. He made sure we had all of the paperwork we needed. He listened to what we were looking for in a safari and what accommodation would suit us and the lodges we stayed in were just perfect. I would recommend booking through Alex to book a holiday to this destination.

Guides:

The guides were at all times really knowledgeable of both the animals and the Birds. And provided us with a insight of them in their natural environment. Keeping us safe was obviously a priority.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

Clearly it gives much needed work to the local people. And it also highlights how important the animals natural environment is.

Ilala Lodge terrace and falls spray

Ilala Lodge

Zimbabwe

A lovely well kept and decorated hotel. Exceptionally clean with all fixture and fittings to a high standard. The complementary drinks in the mini bar and the tea and coffee were most welcome. The breakfast selection and quality was superb in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately the dinner menu was not to our taste. The lodge location was perfect for the falls and for the town. We would definitely stay here again.

The reception area was nice and welcoming. The lodges were clean and comfortable whilst maintaining a very rustic feel. Very nice to have air conditioning. The food was nice and plentiful as were the drinks. Laundry was done and returned all clean and neatly folded up which was very appreciated. Our guide Mike was outstanding. He had a good knowledge of the wildlife without being over bearing and was always up for a discussion on the species making sure our observations were correct. The game drives were fantastic . The lodge staff were very pleasant and helpful . The African songs they sang to us were amazing and made a lovely evening. We felt very safe in the camp and we appreciated the camp guide escorts back to our lodge in the dark.

The tented camp was of a very high standard. The rooms /tents were exceptionally clean and well fitted out. It was nice to have the feel of being in a authentic safari camp. The outdoor shower was interesting and fun. The communal areas were well planned and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and always had time to chat. We enjoyed the food that was cooked for us and breakfast round the camp fire was fun. There was plenty of drinks which you could help yourself to. The game drives were through beautiful countryside and we saw lots of wildlife which exceeded our expectations. We felt safe on our game drives and also in the camp.
