The places you stayed

Rooftop of Hotel Presidente, San Jose, Costa Rica © Hotel Presidente

Hotel Presidente

San Jose

Very brief stay but quirky hotel with nice atmosphere

Cabin at Evergreen Lodge in Tortuguero, Costa Rica © AGMarks

Evergreen Lodge

Tortuguero National Park

What a great first rainforest experience, greeted by spider monkeys as we arrived. Accommodation clean and comfortable although a few mozzies crept in through the window meshing..

Pool at Lomas del Volcan, Arenal, Costa Rica © Fotokoky

Lomas del Volcan

Arenal

Very comfortable cabins with great views if the clouds lifted. Staff very friendly although place generally expanding and building work ongoing. New restaurant enormous and rather impersonal

Hotel Belmar

Hotel Belmar

Costa Rica

First class accommodation and service. Our forest superior room was enormous and luxurious with great bird watching opportunities. Excellent food but at a price, easy though to get into town as well with lots of restaurant choices.

Pool and view at Parador Resort & Spa, Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica © Parador Resort

Parador Resort and Spa

Manuel Antonio

amazing location with wildlife galore all around and not just on the self guided trails. Iguanas at breakfast and monkeys around the pool with scarlet macaws flying overhead. Difficult and expensive to get into town but food excellent and reasonably priced
