The variety of locations in natural environments with a huge variety of wildlife. The zipline and hanging bridges at Monteverde err a highlight!

Tribes Overall:
We had a wonderful holiday with Tribes! The destinations were varied, interesting with plenty of wildlife and activities to do. We were driving some of the time and the roads were challenging with unmade roads especially around Monteverde. It was all good but we had to allow some more time between lodges!

The location is amazing between the sea and river, lovely gardens with frog and butterfly houses. The rooms are a bit basic but comfortable, but we had not hot water, not even warm so when we had got wet in a downpour it wasn’t pleasant. Apparently nobody had any hot water!

Selva Verde Lodge
Sarapiqui
A fantastic lodge for birding, lovely setting by the river and really good nature guides. The room was spacious and comfortable but perhaps a little dated. The food was ok in the Italian restaurant, upstairs the local food was a bit basic.
Monteverde Lodge and Gardens

Our favourite lodge! Calm and peaceful with a small but pleasant pool area, lovely balcony room well worth the upgrade. The staff were all excellent, cocktails amazing!!
Great location on the edge of the village so you can walk to a bar/restaurant in 10 minutes.
