We loved everything about Costa Rica: the animals and plants, the beautiful scenery, the warm and friendly people. Seeing animals you might have only watched on a David Attenborough program, free and in their own environment is a true privilege. Zip lining was even better than we hoped. It was a truly amazing experience! The food is very tasty - particularly fruit like pineapple which tastes so much better than anything you ever bought from a supermarket, and you will learn to love rice and beans.
Tribes Overall:
A wonderful trip to a beautiful country. I think it was everything we hoped for and more.
Tribes Service:
Everything went exactly as planned and was just as described. Hotels were all of a high standard. Activities were well chosen and appropriate for us. Drivers were on time and everything was very well organised. It felt very individual and not like we were travelling in a group - exactly as we wanted
Guides:
Guides were all excellent
The places you stayed
Pachira Lodge
Costa Rica
Fabulous location in the rain forest - Monkeys dancing through the trees outside our room was amazing!

Lomas del Volcan
Arenal
Fantastic hotel with a wonderful breakfast! Very nice chalet type accommodation. Wonderful location on the slopes of the volcano. Its a fair way from town (La Fortuna), but we hired a car for the couple of free days we had there which worked very well.
Hotel Fonda Vela
Costa Rica
Located close to Monteverde reserve, but you needed to get taxi to town (St Elena) which was $10 each way.

Bahia del Sol
Playa Potrero, Guanacaste
A very laid back and friendly small hotel, right on the beach. The perfect place to unwind at the end of the holiday.
Alta Hotel
Costa Rica
A lovely hotel, but the restaurant was quite formal and expensive - perhaps a bit excessive for final evening which was just a stop over before an early flight the next day.
