Date of trip: 15/03/2019
Number of people: 2
The evening visit to La Selva when a porcupine ran along the handrail of the bridge we were walking across.
Tribes Overall:
It met all our expectations and more for the amount of wildlife and birds we saw and and for the variety in the areas we visited.
Tribes Service:
Had all the information needed and contact and help was available when things went off course eg. the initial flight cancellation and delay due to diverting to the Azores !
Guides:
All our drivers were punctual and polite and we never felt worried about their driving skills. The guides all seemed knowledgeable and spoke good English. Particularly impressive were the guides at La Selva
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Clearly tourism is a vital part of the Cost Rican economy
The places you stayed

Hotel Presidente
Costa Rica
Due to our delayed arrival we were only there for a few hours but we enjoyed our short stay, it was quirky and fun, the staff were really helpful and the breakfast was good

Evergreen Lodge
Costa Rica
The setting was lovely and the accommodation was good although basic. It was a shame there was no hot water to the basin in the en-suite, but only to the shower as with the mirror over the basin it made shaving a bit of a challenge!

Parador Resort and Spa
Costa Rica
Another stunning but totally different place, again with welcoming cocktails. Moving to 34c on the Pacific Coast the air conditioning in the rooms was very welcome. Lovely restaurant and pool facilities with monkeys, macaws and toucans in the trees near the pool bar to entertain us.

Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge
Costa Rica
A unique place where you felt as if you really were in the jungle! Very well laid out and although the lodges are not large they are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The restaurant was excellent . We realise that given the environment and setting, air conditioning in the rooms would not be possible, but it was again 34c and very high humidity. The boat trip there was great but perhaps a note in the itinery to warn you that a wet landing was involved would ensure we had the right clothes and footwear for when we arrived at La Hacienda

Chayote Lodge
Costa Rica
This is ideal for a stopover prior to flying home. The views are stunning and the people could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
