Tracy very helpful
Giselle on the Mawamba trip was excellent, maybe it would a have been helpful to know why we were sitting on coach by side of the road for 40 mins just after breakfast stop.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Tortuguero appears extremely reliant on tourism.
The places you stayed
Did the job! Clean, executive floor good, drinks and hot food in evening.
Breakfast basic but fine.
We booked the VIP bus tour online via Trip Advisor, enjoyed it, amusing, struggling to find sights for us - pointed out electricity company!
Central market very brief and dreadful conditions for puppies.
Lunch good, learnt a lot of central American history, would recommend for a day in the city.
Wonderful, having the bigger lodge excellent.
As river dry and transfer from San Jose took 8 hours extra water on coach would have been good.
I can't fault the hotel it was just not what i was expecting.
It's a sanitised American resort.
Yoga class great and breakfast first class.
On reflection we would have been better in smaller hotel nearer the village.
Hanging bridge tour good, walking not at all difficult. Nice to have fruit and iced tea at the end.
Wonderful grounds, lovely room, outside space would be nice but not a problem.
Breakfast was poor selection.
We loved the quirks of this place and staff very friendly - wouldn't be for anyone who liked Arenal springs.
Hot tub good, unheated pool not for the faint hearted!
We walked into the village and eat there on nights, can recommend Taco Taco, good cheap food.
Hotel restaurant , OK and staff lovely but over priced.
Their chimney badly needs sweeping, the restaurant was v smokey (my husband is a chimney sweep!)
Cloud Forrest guide - Oscar- good
We enjoyed the tour but were expecting more of a hike, this is bird watching walk, lots of stopping and waiting at nests, another couple left half way through as not what they were expecting.
We loved it here, bungalow 7 perfect.
10 min walk on beach to town, which although lively had good places to eat. Green Papaya and Falafel bar good.
Surf lessons and board hire very reasonable. Board hire $6 per hour.
