Seeing the Taj Mahal on a clear day, visiting the flower market in Jaipur, seeing tigers in the wild. India is a truly special place. The itinerary was perfect for us - the first week, manic, noisy and very busy, and then to the peaceful, national parks. The contrast gave us a great taste of India. The food was generally very good - and not at all like Indian food in the UK (not oily and full of butter). In Singinawa, we dressed up in saris for the evening (surprisingly comfortable when worn correctly!) It has certainly want to go back and explore more!
Tribes Overall:
Paul put together a great holiday for us - he listened to what we wanted and made the itinerary accordingly. The Maidens Hotel was possibly a bit posh for us, but all the others were perfect. And the Singinawa Lodge cannot be recommended highly enough.
Travel Inn, the local agents, were very helpful when things went a little awry at the end of trip and made sure that we got our connecting flight.
Tribes Service:
Yes, very positive experience. We received everything in a very timely manner, and all our questions were answered The trip Paul put together was excellent.
Guides:
The guide in Dehli was great - his English is superb. The other guides were good too, Our main driver was excellent and we felt very safe.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Hard to know, but as tourists I hope that we bought some income to local people.
The places you stayed
Maidens Hotel
India
Probably a bit posh for us, but very nice. Clean and tidy, and reasonable bar food costs (and happy hour!). It is a bit isolated and we didn't feel able to go out of the compound to explore.
Shahpura House
India
The room was delightful, but some of the electric sockets didn't work. The facilities in the hotel were good, breakfast average, but generally a very beautiful hotel. Again, we didn't feel able to wander around outside the hotel.

Seemed like an average hotel chain. We couldn't use the roof top restaurant as it was closed due to the a private function. Clean and tidy, but we were only there one night so not an issue.

Kings Lodge
Bandhavgarh
The room was very nice, wi-fi access and not too far from Reception. Nice touches like giving us a refillable water bottle, and porridge before the morning game drive. Great service from all the staff. The evening meal was served really late (8- 8:30) which was too late for me - so we didn't eat om the evenings. (They had talks starting at 7:30 to 8pm).

Outstanding service, and attention to detail was superb. We were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay. Again we were given reusable water bottles. Food excellent. Lovely extra touches like hot water bottle and blankets for the morning drive, a small gift on the bed each evening.
Maidens Hotel
India
Excellent hotel, service excellent - but more of a businessman's hotel - not much atmosphere.
Shahpura House
India
Beautiful place - our room was amazing. However, they did seem to have a problem with the electrics - some of our lights didn't work (which they said would be fixed but weren't) and next doors only had one socket that worked.

Didn't get view of Taj as there was a private function in the rooftop restaurant. Have a feeling there was no room service? Was ok for one night.

Thought Kings Lodge was excellent - Singinawa was even better!! Mainly down to Kriti the Assistant Manager who went the extra mile to sort out our flights and everything for our trip home.
