Getting a feel for Quito was fun. Gloria recommended an excellent Ecuadorian restaurant (Theatrum), which we loved. We experienced the wonder of the wildlife in the Galapagos everyday. Seeing the animals up close was an incredible experience. The snorkeling was superb, especially swimming with the sharks, rays and turtles. There were so many awe inspiring moments that it is hard to choose the best. Watching the blue footed boobies dive for food was delightful. Watching hawks mate was unbelievably cool. And, seeing the giant tortoises in their natural habitat was such a treat. We loved making friends with the Brits and truly appreciated Gloria, Bernie and the crew!

Tribes Overall:

We loved traveling on the Beluga with the other guests from the UK. The small group was perfect. The activities were perfectly paced and our itinerary was excellent!

Tribes Service:

Tribes' attentiveness and attention to detail was impressive. We were quite pleased with the affordable overall cost of our tours of Quito and the Galapagos too. Rory was quite patient with me when I was booking our trip. Using Vamoos was a bit challenging for me but that is because I am not that comfortable with technology. Our experience exceeded our expectations! I will recommend Tribes to friends.

Guides:

Gloria, our guide in Quito, was wonderful. Her tour of the city was informal (in a good way), informative, and interesting.

Bernie was delightful! He was thoughtful and knowledgable. Plus, he played his guitar for us on the last night.

We felt we were in good hands every step along the way.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

Gloria suggested a fair trade Ecuadorian gift shop in Quito, which I appreciated. Bernie helped us understand the fragility of the Galapagos ecosystem and how to respect it. We liked that too.
