Particularly memorable was the contrasting variety between the locations from the natural hot springs of Arenal to the cool atmosphere of the cloud forest and finally the warm sands of the Pacific coast. The enthusiasm and warm welcome of the local Costa Ricans added to the enjoyment of the holiday.
Tribes Overall:
The variety of locations in this holiday exceeded my expectations. For a small country the diversity is surprising and impressive.
Tribes Service:
Rory was well versed and experienced in guiding us to an exceptional holiday encapsulating the key attractions of Costa Rica. His special attention even secured cheaper flights for only a minor change in schedule.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Eco tourism is clearly a critical industry for Costa Rica. Every venue was well appointed for recycling and the importance of the cloud forest especially highlighted their care for the environment.
The places you stayed

Studio Hotel
Costa Rica
For a city stopover, this hotel offered a spacious well-appointed room with excellent amenities.

Arenal Springs Resort & Spa
Arenal
Our favourite location of the holiday in an exciting area. Our chalet offered good views of the volcano and was exceptionally well-appointed. The food was excellent as was the service and attention to detail. We were greeted with a welcoming cocktail and cold towel. All other amenities at the hotel lived up to the same high standard.

Trapp Family Hotel
Monteverde
Following Arenal Springs, this unusual hotel struggled to compare positively. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a separate seating area in bay window. The extensive wood panelling made the room seem very dark and the lighting was soft. The welcome was warm, the dinner was excellent and the convenient location for the cloud forest reserve was second to none.

Hotel Capitan Suizo
Tamarindo
Excellent location just outside Tamarindo. Again the welcome was excellent with a complementary cocktail awaiting us at the poolside bar. The two tiered room was well appointed and spacious with interior and balcony seating provided. Though Pacific facing, the vegetation entirely blocked the view. The restaurant offered the welcome opportunity to sit on the beach, under trees or under shelter and provided an excellent variety of very tasty local and/or international dishes. Poolside and beachside amenites were easily accessible and the beach pleasantly uncrowded.
