Holiday review by Mr. Robert Lee
Name: Mr. Robert Lee
Date of trip: 03/01/2019
Number of people: 2
The rain forest and cloud forest complemented each other in terms of environment with a wide variey of flora and fauna. This contrasted with Galapagos where geology, marine life and animals and birds were spectacular.
Tribes Overall:
Yes, a very good mix of habitats and experiences: rain forest, Galapagos and cloud forest.
Tribes Service:
Paul Cook did it again!! Everything went very smoothly. How are you going to top this??
Guides:
Very knowledgeable. Slight problem in understanding English speaking native guides when with a party.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
This was especially so for the rain forest and cloud forest where there was a heavy involvement of local people, although they were predominately male. It was good to encounter female guides on Eric.
The places you stayed

La Casona de la Ronda
Quito
Good central position in the old city. We could have spent an extra day in Quito.

Sani Lodge
Ecuador
Fantastic setting on lake. Good to be welcomed by a pet peccory and 'stinky turkeys'. Excellent walks. We enjoyed our visit to the community village but felt that it went on too long.

Napo Wildlife Centre
Ecuadorian Amazon
Again, a fantastic setting on water, approached by canoe. Most excursions by boat, including sights of giant otters. The food, as with Sani Lodge, was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the fruits and soups.

MY Letty
Galapagos Islands
Compact cabins. Spacious meeting area, very comfortable. Party size of 18 felt about right.
Food 5*. Service excellent from a friendly crew.
We enjoyed the mix of water sports, walks and talks.

Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge
Ecuador
We thought that this might be an anticlimax after the rain forest and Galapagos but not so! Excellent personal guide (Juan Carlos from Bolivia), with wide-ranging excursions, especially to see the cock-of-the-rock lek. We would have happily stayed longer. Food basic but good.
