The rafting was a lot of fun (first time for me). Punakha Dzong was a magical place The climb up to Eagles Nest was an effort but well worth it and also the view from Dochula pass was incredible the first time we stopped there
Tribes Overall:
Bhutan is a totally amazing place that you cannot really prepare for.
Tribes Service:
We have used Tribes previously to travel to India and were impressed enough to return for a different holiday. The Vamoos app was quite useful
Guides:
Initially both our guide and driver seemed quite reserved but over the course of 8 days we got to know them better and ended up sharing meals with them. Our guide Wangchuk, was very knowledgeable wrt religion and culture but also superstition which plays a big part of Bhutanese life. We were travelling with our teenage kids and he also knew to keep the perfect balance between temples and treks (and a rafting trip!). Our driver, Sonam, was a very safe pair of hands and delivered safely to our various destinations over a variety of roads in varying conditions.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Some of the hotels were employing local people in very rural areas. Our guide also arranged for us to have lunch one day in a farm and to try a traditional hot stone bath at a different farm, all of which I assume feeds in to the local economy, especially at a time of year when a lot of farming cannot be done
