We loved the nature and wildlife. Our trips out were all well organised and the guides looked to give us the best experience possible. We thoroughly enjoyed the Arenal zip lining experience for a bit of an adrenalin kick. Driving between locations gave us freedom and allowed us to explore locally at visited destinations.
Tribes Overall:
We had a fantastic holiday in Costa Rica. We saw some great areas of the country and the trips selected by the Tribe's representative met our goals of exploring the nature and wildlife in the country.
Tribes Service:
Paul worked hard to understand our requirements and pull together an appropriate itinerary. He kept us informed through the booking process and at key stages before our departure.
Guides:
All the guides were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their country. They all worked hard to ensure we learnt much and were able to enjoy the trips.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Costa Rica is a country that continually reinforces its environmental criteria. I believe there is a real desire to be proactive and look after the environment although I am not sure they have nailed it in all aspects yet. It was great to see the guides on our canoeing trip in the mangrove swamps collect rubbish.
The places you stayed

Arenal Springs Resort & Spa
Arenal
Great accommodation and the thermal baths are excellent. Unfortunately only one restaurant was open. This was the pizza restaurant which meant very limited choice for the gluten intolerant person in the party. We therefore ate in Fortuna at Inspira, a great new restaurant that is well worth a visit.

Si Como No
Manuel Antonio
Great spot from which to explore Manuel Antonio and the mangrove swamps nearby. The hotel provides access to a butterfly farm and this was a great place to relax for and hour or so. Hotel food is very good and the nearby El Avion restaurant is well worth a visit.
Accommodation gives amazing views over the forest to the Pacific.

Shawandha Lodge
Costa Rica
It felt this should be a great venue but perhaps now is very tired. The bed linen was quite worn and the accommodation needs a refresh. There were no drawers in the accommodation and it was difficult to unpack.
Our organised trip to the indigenous population was very good.
