The places we stayed and visited were all good. We found the Costa Ricans very friendly, and proud of their country. It was good that the guides, as well as running the tours, gave us some insights into the history of Costa Rica. Overall a very enjoyable experience, and we are already thinking of planning a return trip.
Tribes Overall:
Paul Cook took on board our wishes and tailored the holiday accordingly. Overall it worked very well for us.
Guides:
All four guides we had were excellent. In particular, Jose showed us around Naranjo and other local spots, and tailored the tour to match our interests. (It was a private tour, which was great.) Walter gave us a well-paced tour of the Curi Cancha Reserve in Monteverde, and spotted quite a few interesting birds for us.
The places you stayed

Finca Rosa Blanca
Costa Rica
Perfect spot for the start of the holiday. Comfortable room, good swimming pool, excellent restaurant, pleasant grounds. Plenty more we could have done from this base - we could well visit here again.

Chayote Lodge
Costa Rica
Unusual site. Lovely views from the room and the restaurant. A good base to explore the surrounding area, but not much to do at the Lodge itself.

Monteverde Lodge and Gardens
Costa Rica
Lovely spot. Some good trails through the grounds, and a short walk into the town. Generally good food, although we had one poor experience.

Parador Resort and Spa
Costa Rica
Very comfortable and well-appointed rooms, with spacious grounds and plenty of facilities. Only disappointment was the food at dinner in the main restaurant, which was mostly rather bland.
