Date of trip: 28/11/2017
Number of people: 2
There were so many but probably snorkelling in the Galapagos Islands with sharks turtles sea lions penguins and huge numbers of fish.
Tribes Overall:
It was genuinely an amazing trip of a lifetime. The Galapagos Islands were stunning and visiting them in a small group on a lovely yacht was very special.
Tribes Service:
Paul was excellent and the trip ran so smoothly it was totally stress free. Avianca were a good choice of airline although I had never heard of them. All of our transfers were on time and the guides/drivers helpful and friendly.
Guides:
All of the guides were very good friendly and knowledgeable. The guide, David, on the Beluga ensured our visit to the Galapagos included all we wanted to see and more and was full of useful and interesting information.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
All of our trips were strictly controlled to ensure the wildlife were unaffected by our visit. Tourism is important to these areas so hopefully we helped the local economies.
The places you stayed

Beluga
Galapagos Islands
A wonderful experience. The boat is beginning to show its age but it didn't detract from our adventure.

Arenal Springs Hotel
Arenal
Very comfortable and the springs and the view of the volcano were lovely. A bit impersonal and American for my tastes but for a two day stay not a problem

Hotel El Establo
Costa Rica
A wonderful location and views to die for. Unfortunately an unexpected cold front meant that the rooms were freezing and really uncomfortable. It reminded me of staying with my grandparents back in the 1960s. They didn't have any form of heating. We had to wear clothes in bed to stay warm. The only form of heating was a hairdryer ! Also our tour was organised for 6am. The hotel doesn't open until 6.15 so in all the confusion we lost an hour.
