We stayed at Batonka Guest lodge in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, the hotel is small with a very personal service. We were greeted by Adrian the manager who gave us a lot of information about where to eat and visit and how to get around safely. We went to the Falls which are spectacular, far bigger than I expected. We visited the Victoria Falls Hotel for a lovely meal and entertainment and enjoyed seeing the warthogs grazing the lawns. I can recommend the sunset cruise on the Zambezi, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and an amazing sunset. At Chobe we came across three lionesses and two cubs who were resting after a kill. We waited and eventually they got up and walked into the bushes right past our vehicle, it's wonderful to get so close. In the Okavango Delta we saw two male lions who had killed a buffalo, they were so full of meat, resting in the shade, we could get within 10 feet, close up photography I never thought I would achieve. We thoroughly enjoyed a motorboat trip through the waterways, a bush walk and then a Mokuro ride to a heronry.
Tribes Overall:
Our holiday was absolutely brilliant.
Tribes Service:
Alex and Amanda were very helpful. They tailored the Three Rivers Safari to accommodate our fairly inflexible dates, fitting in all the things we wanted to do. They kept us well informed from start to finish.
Guides:
Our guide in Chobe Elephant Camp was Joel. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and as well as seeing many animals, we also learned a lot of interesting facts.
Simon was our guide in the Okavango delta. He too was extremely knowledgeable and filled our time there with wonderful wildlife sightings.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
The places we stayed had solar power and used some of the local materials for building materials. I feel they are very environmentally aware and try very hard to be eco friendly.

We received a welcome like no other! Dancing and singing by the camp staff is a highlight. The lounge and dining areas are lovely and the staff very attentive. The rooms are simple framed buildings on the outside, and beautifully furnished inside. Amazing service.
