Our highlight has to be the night trip to watch the amazing eye eye while we were staying at Palmarium. The tame lemurs at Palmarium were also incredible to spend time with, entirely on their terms but they loved to interact with people.
Tribes Overall:
Mostly excellent but Masoala was very disappointing. We encountered an incredible mix on our trip - of scenery, poverty/wealth. Madagascar seems to run on second hand cars, clothes, shoes ...
We were very well looked after by our excellent driver / guide who always thought of us first as our itinerary was changed.
Tribes Service:
Our itinerary was a bit lacking in detail for some days.
Guides:
We had excellent guides at most locations, but at 2 national parks our guides seemed to lack experience.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Generally there was good local support for eco tourism, but in Masaola NP it was desperately sad to hear that hunters and villagers had betrayed those in the eco tourism industry and since Easter had decimated the population of both lemurs and turtles.
The places you stayed

The Palmarium
Madagascar
We were in a lovely refurbished chalet, with electricity and hot water. Good central bar/restaurant area, with lemurs to help eat breakfast

Vakona Forest Lodge
Madagascar
Amazing central building set by a lake and good individual chalets. Very nice food.
