So many! The surprise of seeing an Ocelot at SouthWild Pantanal. Our first jaguar sighting - the grace and beauty of a wild cat coming down to the river in the sunshine. Spending time with a mother and cub jaguar with only a handful of other boats. Seeing a jaguar not seen by SouthWild clients before and getting the chance to name it. Every encounter with giant otters - endlessly entertaining The Paralympics - all of it!
Tribes Overall:
Absolutely amazing holiday. It surpassed our expectations and our expectations were high.
Tribes Service:
We would have liked more pre-departure information about tipping in Brazil, but this information was provided when we called about it.
Paul Cook was very helpful and knowledgeable when we were planning our trip.
Guides:
Naun Amable Silva was our guide throughout in the Pantanal. He was incredibly knowledgeable and we couldn't fault him.
Our guide for our one day tour of Rio was also excellent, tailoring the day to our interests.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
There was some feeding of wild animals at SouthWild Pantanal.
Once we got down to the rivers for the jaguar spotting, we were impressed with the way the boats kept a respectful distance from the jaguar sightings. A lot better than most of the road safaris that we have been on.

Rooms were quite basic, but adequate. Food was average.
The wildlife literally coming up to your door was amazing. Great bird life on the river trips. Don't miss the trip to the hide at dusk.

The suites are great - the website pictures do not do them justice. Food was ok, although variety was limited.
