Close contact with range of wild animals-elephants in camp were right by our tent! Hippos coming out of the river and eating in front of our tent at night. Amazing birds, sounds, smells of the bush. Experience of living in the environment and learning so much about wildlife and life of our hosts and guides. Food was very good. I am vegetarian and although the camps didn't seem aware of this they provided excellent alternatives. There was only 1 meal where there wasn't another option.
We had an amazing time and many adventures that we will remember forever! If you haven't done a trip like this it is quite hard to know what to expect but all the way through we were well looked after and any questions we had were answered.
Very helpful. In a short 8 day trip we had 3 very different but amazing experiences!
Brilliant. So much knowledge. The walking Safari could be challenging for some and there were some fellow visitors who were very anxious. Jeep safari -we got to see so many animals. Sometimes the viewing areas had several vehicles there but that wasn't a problem as our guide -Gideon, always managed to get us close.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
All seemed in tune with their special environment and showed awareness that the area was owned by the animals and we were visitors to their environment. 2camps had solar energy and were looking at ways of lessening the impact of the camp on the area-eg providing eco friendly soaps, shower gel, shampoo etc. The lodge in Zambia supports a pre- school in a local village.
The places you stayed
Very well run. Walking and mkoro safaris provided very up close and personal experiences! You are really at one with the wild! No sounds other than the animals around you! It was great to watch the guides as they tracked animals and took us through the bush. Excellent information and a real sense of being in the world of the animals!
Excellent. Delightful staff, great food, wonderful guide. Jeep safaris meant we were able to travel over quite large areas to see different animals. Our guide, Gideon, was keen to ensure that we saw what we wanted and was very knowledgable. Often there were other vehicles at viewing areas but this wasn't a problem, we were too busy watching the animals! Staff provided excellent meals with a different experience on each of the 3nights we were there.
