Everything! But highlights were: Seeing two wildebeest river crossings at the Mara River in the Serengeti; two lion cubs left in a tree by their mother while she went off hunting; three female lions protecting their kill from vultures whilst seeing off wildebeest and zebra, eventually being bullied out of the way by a herd of elephants; watching local kids making a competition of jumping into the harbour in Stone Town; tracking a cheetah and her two 3-week old cubs; seeing a hyena and some jackals fighting over a kill; enjoying the amazing scenery of the vast plains of the Serengeti; seeing Ngorongoro for the first time; the guides, the staff and meeting many wonderful people along the way; listening to wildebeest, hippos and hyenas outside our tent each night.... and many more memories!
Tribes Overall:
A perfect holiday. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe it, but everything surpassed our expectations.
Tribes Service:
Christine was brilliant - from the moment we met her she was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. She was so helpful with any queries we had. She organised everything perfectly - whole holiday went like clockwork. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her or the company.
Guides:
Nickson (for Tarangire and Ngorongoro) and Peter (Serengeti) were both excellent guides - knowledgeable, professional, responsible, engaging, great company and both willing to go the extra mile for us, which was very much appreciated. 10/10 for both!
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
Not sure, wouldn't say anywhere was unsustainable, but perhaps the companies could promote this aspect more prominently.
The places you stayed

Maweninga Camp
Tanzania
Excellent food, comfortable tents, lovely staff and amazing sunset views over Lake Burungi.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Tanzania
Quite a large hotel with many guests so it was very busy - however good food, comfortable rooms a great location inside the rim of the crater and amazing views from the pool / bar area! Liked the hot water bottles in our bed each night as it got quite chilly in the evenings!

Lemala Mara
Serengeti National Park
Can't praise this place highly enough. Luxurious tents, brilliant food and fantastic setting with views of the Mara River. However what really set this place apart was the staff - everyone was wonderful and they were so friendly. Was so sad to leave this place....

Zanzibar Palace Hotel
Tanzania
Great location in the heart of Stone Town, a lovely restored historic mansion. Fantastic room and friendly staff, great breakfasts.
