Holiday review by Roses and Pitchers
Name: Roses and Pitchers
Date of trip: 27/01/2016
Number of people: 2
Seeing our first elephant up close was an amazing experience! The safaris were great - so well organised. We loved the morning coffee break and the sundowners on the afternoon game drives. Driving through the vast mountains and along the coastal routes was wonderful. Such a diverse landscape!
Tribes Overall:
Our holiday in South Africa was wonderful and certainly exceeded our expectations. We experienced many different aspects of this amazing country and are looking forward to going back again.
Tribes Service:
All our discussions with our Tribes consultant, Sinead, were very positive and helpful. She organised a very varied and interesting tour for us covering all the aspects we were interested in.
Guides:
We felt very safe with our guide, Warwick, at Jaci's Safari Lodge. He was very knowledgeable and keen for us to experience as much as we could in Madikwe. His enthusiasm was catching!
We are so glad we asked Tribes to organise a township tour for us. Our guide was brilliant and cricket and rugby mad as well! We definitely saw more of Langa township with him than we would ever have done on our own.
Social & Environmental Responsibility:
It is difficult to say what impact our holiday had on the environment or wildlife but we sincerely hope that our visit helped local communities both financially and in employment terms.
The places you stayed

Jacis Safari Lodge
South Africa
The accommodation at Jaci's was very comfortable. Our lodges were spacious and airy and we loved the way it was closed down like a tent in the evening. The food at Jaci's was excellent - probably the best we had anywhere. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home - we felt part of one big happy family.

138 Marine Beachfront Guest House
South Africa
138 Marine was in a stunning location right on the beach. Breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sea. Idyllic! Bearing in mind how busy Hermanus was at the time, Belinda had already booked us in at some very nice restaurants, which was a very thoughtful gesture.

La Petite Ferme
South Africa
Accommodation at La Petite Ferme was in individual cottages with private plunge pool, bordering a vineyard and overlooking the Franschhoek Valley. Incredible! Restaurant was good and wine wasn't bad either!

Four Rosmead
South Africa
Four Rosmead was in a very good location in the shadow of Table Mountain. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfasts were really good. The location was ideal for walking to and from some local restaurants and a short taxi drive to some further afield or to the Waterfront. It was also ideal for getting to the Cape and Table Mountain.
