Seeing the Christ the Redeemer statue and the views over Rio. Whilst staying at the Flotel, seeing loads of sightings of jaguars in the Pantanal (we had 12 separate sightings) including a mother and two cubs and jaguars swimming across the river. Also two sightings of giant otter families and dozens of colourful birds. The sound of jaguar calling at night very near the Flotel. Magical! The Pantanal is a beautiful place and it was a privilege to go there. Iguassu Falls - Overwhelmingly beautiful. The power of the water is awesome. The boat ride - such fun! Everybody should do it.

Met and surpassed all our expectations. Tribes did it again!

Very helpful as usual. One of the reasons that we keep coming back to Tribes.

Guides:

Paulo at SouthWild in the Pantanal was particularly good and could not have been more helpful and caring for our welfare. Also excellent was John our skipper whilst staying at the Flotel - another great pair of eyes for spotting jaguar and giant otter. Cezar who looked after us at Iguassu was also very helpful.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

In the Pantanal I would say that the holiday was definitely beneficial. However, difficult to say at Rio and Iguassu. Obviously, the holiday provides work for local people. As regards the environment, one concern was the fact that food is left out at cafes/picnic areas and although local guides are trying hard to stop people feeding animals/birds, this is still going on. Obviously leftover burgers etc are not the diet for wildlife! Perhaps large notices bringing this to peoples' attention or even fines might put a stop to it.

Suites are big and spacious with two huge double beds (we upgraded on arrival from our original Standard Room). Food is wholesome but basic but taking into account the location it was fine and plentiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we felt relaxed and at home during our stay.

Comfortable, good sized room, well appointed. Friendly staff and good tasty food - even for me as a vegetarian there was a good choice. The location is great too, wildlife all around including the resident capybara family, jabiru storks and hyacinth macaws.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms very well appointed, staff so friendly but very professional. Level of service could not be faulted. Loved the location. Food excellent. All in all, it lives up to its reputation in all respects.
