Discovering the complete absence of the concept of \'kerb appeal\' in Marrakech. Slightly tatty alleyways, with high, unadorned walls, except for the occasional graffiti gave way to exquisite courtyards decorated in enormous detail. Vibrant street life, and medieval working conditions in the medina.

Staying in the Kasbah du Toubkal in the Atlas mountains, transporting our luggage by mule. Two good hearty hikes, and a luxurious picnic in beautiful surroundings.

Tribes Overall:

All of the transfers and bookings worked like clockwork. The accommodation in both Marrakech and the Atlas mountains was very good & full of character.

Tribes Service:

Guy was ready to answer all my questions & more...

Guides:

Zoubida in Marrakech provided very detailed information and was very ready to discuss contemporary issues, such as the position of women in Morrocan society.
Rashid, our hiking guide in the Atlas Mountains, set a good pace, ensuring that everyone was comfortable, and similarly was ready to talk openly about life in Morocco.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

Most noticeable at the Kasbah - its clear that its existence has done an enormous amount for the local community. Everyone there seemed very proud of it.
