Self drive around the wetland park at St Lucia. A wonderful introduction to the area. We should have done a guided night drive to see the owls, night jars and leopards - next time. The fish traps and snorkelling at Kosi Bay were amazing. The birding day from Unkhombi Lodge was a day we will never forget. From start to finish it was a absolute joy.

Tribes Service:

Helpful in every way.

Guides:

The welcome we received in all three locations cannot be faulted. Especially at Umlilo Lodge encouraged us to spent a day in the Wetland Park and organised us with cool box and snorkelling gear. A perfect start to our holiday. Justin guided us in the kayak safari and he was perfectly calm, informative and great company.
Vussi at Kosi Bay was the perfect host and looked after us beautifully. He made our stay at Kosi Bay something we will never forget. His sharing of knowledge and making sure that we and everyone staying were happy came through. He took us to the fish traps and his sharing of the history of the area just added to the experience. The snorkelling was simple to do and so so rewarding. The fish are simply amazing.
We had two guides from Umkhumbi Lodge. Nicky was our guide for the game parks. We saw three of the big 5 - no elephants or leopards, but not through lack of trying. A wonderful day. The highlight though was Themba our birding guide. We cannot fault our day with him. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and make us want to come back for more.

Social & Environmental Responsibility:

Beneficial to us as we were on a sharp learning curve. The local guides we spoke to were clearly very concerned with the social and wildlife environment, and we shared their concerns.
