Shenton Safaris Wild Luangwa

Shenton Safaris owns two excellent camps in Zambia's South Luangwa National Park - Kaingo Camp and Mwamba Camp. They are an owner-run operation with Derek and Jules Shenton at the helm.

This safari combines both of their camps for a week-long wildlife experience which should rival most things you can see in the African savannah. South Luangwa is a superb wildlife reserve with really excellent game viewing opportunities including the big five. It is known for its good sightings of leopard, has thousands of hippos, and healthy populations of lions and wild dogs, as well as a prolific number of other species.

The Shenton camps are good quality and well-run, though Mwamba is a bushcamp, so more rustic than Kaingo. They also have good guides, and the other thing that Shenton are very good at is providing some superb hides. They have various hides dotted around, such as the elephant hide, the hippo hide and the carmine hide. These are amazingly good whether you're a photographer and or a wildlife enthusiast. If you're really keen, you can sleep at the elephant hide! (Please note that sleepouts are an extra cost and should be pre-booked).
