Depending on your arrival time you will be served lunch or tea before you set out on the late afternoon game drive, your first safari of thw week! You return in time to freshen up for dinner.
South Luangwa National Park
Your first full day in South Luangwa. You'll be able to choose between game drives, guided walks and seasonal boat safaris. These all offer great wildlife viewing opportunities and you'll be led by a knowledgeable guide. The drives are in open vehicles with excellent visibility. The walks, which are accompanied by an armed ranger, enable you to get close to nature, to see the signs left by the animals and get an insight into the life of the bush. Taking to the water allows you to explore the lagoons and get good views of marine life and water birds.

After breakfast you'll depart from Nkwali Camp by boat for the journey to our next home, Nsefu Camp. The cruise is a leisurely one stopping to enable you to watch wildlife en-route. You may see elephant and lion on the banks and there are sure to be many birds. As you reach a large bend in the river and you catch your first sight of Nsefu Camp and should arrive in time for a tasty lunch. Later there's a chance to go out exploring with your guide, returning to the camp in time to shower and change before dinner.
You have plenty of time over the next two days to head out into the park by boat and on foot. As the water levels will be high you might to go boating over land that is usually used for game drives. If you want a full day out you can go for a walk further afield and take a picnic to enjoy at a specially chosen spot, followed by a siesta, returning to camp in the late afternoon. In the evening, if you wish, you can take a boat ride heading back to the camp after dark. Precise activities and timings can be decided with your guide on the day.
This is your second day at Nsefu, and as with the previous day, you have a choice as to what you want to do and can liaise with your guide to make the most of your time here. Precise activities and timings can be decided with your guide on the day.
To Nkwali Camp
Today you take a boat back to Nkwali Camp with plenty of wildlife viewing and photographic opportunities on the way. You are greeted on your return to the camp and then sit down to lunch or tea, depending on your arrival time, before setting out for the afternoon or night game drive. Either way you'll be back in time for a convivial dinner.
You have an early breakfast around the campfire before departing on the morning game drive or walk. Both start with a boat ride into the national park. The wildlife here is plentiful and diverse and there are excellent chances of seeing herds of elephant and giraffe. There's a welcome mid-morning break for hot drinks and snacks before continuing the safari, later returning to camp for lunch and a rest or a gentle swim in the pool.
