Nepal Birdwatching Holiday

The bird watching starts on your first full day in Nepal, as you travel out to Phulchowki Hill, the highest point in the Kathmandu Valley. Long popular with bird watchers, this area is blessed with abundant bird life including thrushes, warblers, tits, woodpeckers and eagles, and makes an exciting beginning to the holiday.

Chitwan awaits! With over 500 bird species, your two days here will be busy and rewarding, with chances to spot rare and threatened creature such as the Bengal florican and several type of vultures. You'll explore on foot and you'll also have a jeep drive to seek out one-horned rhinos and Bengal tigers, some of the park's most famous residents.

From here you had east towards the Indian border and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. This is a world-renowned birding destination, especially noted for its wetlands. Waders and waterfowl are in their element, and birds of prey are common. These are joined by migratory species between November and April. Guided walks and river trips allow you to enjoy this rich array.
